last weekend i sliced the top off my finger - perfect blogging material! especially the bit where i looked over and realised there was a piece of my finger on the knife. although it has made typing hard. i am hoping like mad that the bit of me that was detached will reattach itself somehow - it is all swathed in bandages (that bean constructed beautifully once she had got over the horror of seeing a bit of me in a place it shouldn’t be) so i don’t really know how the healing process is going.
another (expensive) FET on sunday - going for broke now, putting two in at a time. a bit of that mad hoping attached to this too.
horrors of the world - actually this is just too depressing to even blog about. sometimes i like to fool myself that feminism got us somewhere, but the concatenation of miserable news stories this week about violence towards women in its many forms, from the physical through to the conceptual, has reminded me how fucked it all still is. not to mention the whole why bother having children if they are just going to treat each other like shit thing.
the wonders of broadband - on the up side, broadband plus new shiny computer has opened up a world of popular culture (some of which plays into the above point, but let’s not go there right now). we have been downloading like mad - veronica mars, new eps of battlestar galactica as they come out, and bean has made a hilarious mix-cd of all her favourite dance tracks from the good old party days of the late 90s.
um, can’t think of anything else.
